Dear Stetson University Students, Faculty, and Staff friends and colleagues,

You are cordially invited to stop by WORLD: International Learning tomorrow, Tuesday, December 10, to see the live TV broadcast of the memorial service for Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa.

From 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. our large flat-screen TV will be on for anyone who wants to stop by to be part of this historic gathering of world leaders, dubbed by NBC News as “the biggest security event in modern memory — planned on just five days’ notice. . . “ with representatives of many international organizations and “over 100 current or former heads of state expected to attend” (according to BBC and NBC News).

Among the channels we have available are CNN, CNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, Worldview, Univision (Spanish), and CSPAN.

We will provide two buckets of free candy, some juice, and other light snacks – feel free to bring your own food and refreshments, and of course to share this invitation with anyone in the Stetson University community who may be interested in taking a break from finals to watch this global event.

The WORLD: International Learning building is at 635 N. Bert Fish, at the corner of Florence across from the Hollis Field between the Edmunds Center and the Hollis Center.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

With best regards,

WORLD: International Learning
