Members of the Stetson community,

Are you registered to vote?

As a values-driven institution that emphasizes the importance of global citizenship, Stetson strives to develop the habits of citizenship that will last our students’ entire lives. One of the most important – and most fundamental – aspects of being an engaged citizen is participation in elections through voting.

Tuesday, Sept. 24 marks National Voter Registration Day. To ensure that all eligible students are able to vote, Stetson University has partnered with TurboVote, a non-partisan, non-profit organization that specializes in making voter registration “as easy as getting a DVD from Netflix.” Signing-up is completely free and takes only three minutes.

By visiting, Stetson students can:

  • Get registered to vote using your home address or on-campus address (421 N Woodland Blvd., Unit ####, DeLand, FL 32723)
  • Sign-up to vote by mail or learn where your voting precinct is located
  • Get text/email reminders about dates and deadlines so you never miss an election

In 2012, Stetson students voted at a rate that was almost eight percent higher than 18-24 year olds across the country, and five-and-a-half percent higher than students at other colleges and universities in the southeastern United States. Register to vote today to live out our values and ensure that Stetson remains a leader in civic engagement through participation in our democratic processes.
